New Rochelle Arts District Master Plan
The city of New Rochelle has a storied history as a home to arts and culture, hosting Thomas Paine, Norman Rockwell, and Frederick Remington over the years. To formalize this identity, Civic Moxie, Karl F. Seidman Consulting Services, and Karp Strategies worked with the City to create a new arts and cultural district plan. This plan identified the boundaries for the district, surveyed artists and organizations regarding their space needs, and suggested policies and urban design strategies to foster the arts and maintain cultural space. Throughout this initiative, Karp Strategies worked directly with Karl Seidman to create a survey of artists and arts organizations, conduct interviews, and analyze public data to support a market analysis of the supply and demand of arts venues in the region, and contribute to public presentations.
